“…Very recently, our group has grown large BZB crystal with high optical quality. The formula of Bi 2 ZnB 2 O 7 has been changed to Bi 2 ZnOB 2 O 6 according to its anionic structure. Preliminary investigations of BZB indicate that it is a promising NLO material with large second-harmonic generation (SHG) response (3–4 KH 2 PO 4 (KDP)), wide optical transmission range, and congruent melting property. Considering these excellent properties of BZB, it is interesting and meaningful to grow a large single crystal and further investigate its structure–property relationship.
