“…The animals are exposed to thermal stress for a short period during the early stage of their life. Several studies confirmed that the rabbits exposed to heat stress for a short period during earlier age exhibit improved physiological parameters, productivity performance, and heat tolerance during the exposure to later heat stress conditions (Ei-Badry et al 2015;Ezzat et al 2019;Sakr et al 2019;Madkour et al 2020;Madkour et al 2021).…”

“…Due to its content of ascorbic acid and the antioxidant minerals especially Zn and Se, tomato pomace may be used as antioxidant supplements ( Elbadrawy and Sello, 2016 ) the current findings showed that the antioxidants status had improved through enhanced SOD, TAC, and GSH activity and at the time reduced lipid peroxidation (MDA). It has been reported that tomato waste juice could be used as an antioxidant source in broiler diets to maintain internal organ development and preserve normal health ( Madkour et al, 2020 ; Orhan et al, 2021 ). Dietary tomato paste improved antioxidant capacity by increasing lycopene serum concentrations and decreased MDA in laying hens ( Orhan et al, 2021 ).…”

“…From our study, HS modulated SOD activity, two-fold higher than TNZ, but the effect of L -Cit was evident via increased CAT activity. Controversial reports exist on the influence of HS on antioxidant enzyme activity ( Madkour et al, 2020 ), however in a recent review it has been explained that exposure to high ambient temperature allows for a compensatory increase in the antioxidant enzymes activity such as SOD, GSH-Px, and CAT, in order to afford short term protection against excessive free radicals produced ( Goel et al, 2021 ). Under HS condition, L -Cit increased GSH-Px action to counteract ROS formation, although the plasma MDA and T-AOC contents were not influenced.…”
