Human Resource Management and Technology Development in Artificial Intelligence Adoption in the UAE Energy Sector

UAE Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) play a central role in socio-economic transformation, poverty reduction, job creation, and wealth creation. However, most SMEs faced unsustainable growth due to a lack of managing risk. Hence, this paper presents a study on the ranking of risk management practices that influence SMEs' organizational performance in the UAE. The study has identified 11 factors, and these factors were classified into four groups: risk management process; operational risk management; risk assessment, risk control. These factors were used in the questionnaire development used in the survey to measure the respondents’ perceptions of these factors. The data collected from the questionnaire survey were analysed to rank these factors using mean and standard deviation values scored by the individual factor. In the risk management process group, it was found that the highest rank is the treat risk. The second group is operational risk management. The highest-ranked factor is the system, followed by the third group, which is Risk assessment with risk prioritization as the critical factor. The highest-ranking factor for the final group, risk control, is the risk management plan. These findings will help the SMEs community to handle risk either at the planning or the implementation stage of their activities to ensure the sustainability of the SMEs industry in UAE.

Attributes of Mobile Technology Adoption Acceptance from Users Perspective

The most significant challenge associated with the operationalization of user-based technology emerged as technology acceptanceamong the public. This study aims to investigate the challenges in mobile technology adoption in the Abu Dhabi Emirate by identifying 52 factors that motivate users to adopt mobile technology across a broad spectrum. These factors were clustered into six categories namely Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) User Experience (UE) Attitude (ATT), Customer Satisfaction Excellence(CSE) Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Intention to Use (INU). The data was collected through 396 questionnaires to gauge the perception of the public. The data was analysed statistically and found that all of the categories have Cronbach Alpha values greater than 0.7 which indicate that the data was reliable and consistent. The data was also assessed for its normality and found that the skewness and kurtosis values were in the range of normal distribution. For ranking analysis, it was found that the three most common categories considered by respondents when using any technology is Perceived Ease of Use. User experience is the second most important driving respondents' use of technology. This is followed by the user's attitude, which is what drives the adoption of any technology. This findings help the new technology providers to understand the acceptance patterns of the users.

Willingness of Residents to Participate in UAE Heritage and Culture Tourism Industry

Heritage and culture tourism is very cruicial to the economic development of a country. Thus, it is essential that native people should have knowledge about heritage and culture so that they able to spread the knowledge by taking advantage of the media channel. The current study assessed the willingness of the UAE residents on the heritage and culture tourism of UAE. hence, this paper presents a quantitative study to assess the willingness of UAE residents to involve in heritage and culture tourism of their country. A questionnaire survey was conducted to gauge 11 questions related to heritage and culture tourism from the participants in terms of their level of agreement using 5-points Likert scale. A total of 558 questionnaire samples were distributed however 501 completed questionnaire forms were collected and analysed. The analysis found that majority of the respondents has basic information regarding heritrage and tourism of the UAE. They are interested and willing to know more about the heritage and culture of the UAE. A significant number of respondents mentioned that they wish to visit UAE heritage with their family. It was also pointed out by the respondents that they have not experience all types of tourism to heritage locations in UAE. The findings from this study emphasis the need of promoting more about the heritage eventhough the media has playing very important role in distributing awareness and knowledge regarding heritage and tourism of the UAE.
