Hybrid hydrogels of hyperbranched poly(ether amine)s (hPEAs) for selective adsorption of guest molecules and separation of dyes

Abstract: We herein report a novel hybrid hydrogel (SiO 1.5 -hPEAs-Gels), which was fabricated by the direct hydrolysis of trimethoxysilyl groups containing hyperbranched poly(ether amine)s (TMS-hPEAs) in water. The adsorption behaviors of guest molecule dyes by the obtained SiO 1.5 -hPEAs-Gels were investigated systematically. The adsorption process was found to follow pseudo-first-order kinetics at the initial stage, but followed pseudo-second-order kinetics at later stages. SiO 1.5 -hPEAs-Gels exhibited a quick adsor… Show more

“…5a). To determine the parameters associated with MB adsorption, the experimental data of the S4 adsorbent were modeled with the well known Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms [40][41][42]. The linear forms of the two isotherms are expressed as follows:…”

“…The isotherms of the Ni@PCMs samples confirm the nature of mesopore and are of type IV isotherm with two condensation steps in the mesopore range according to the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) classification (Deng et al, 2012;Li et al, 2014). It exhibits a H 1 hysteresis loop with the capillary condensation at a relative pressure (P/P 0 ) & 0.45-0.90.…”
