Analyzing the strategic aspects of managerial accounting in the context of reporting in industrial SMEs is a critical management issue. This paper aims to present the main results of an empirical study on this topic among some SMEs from the knitwear industry in the southern part of Bulgaria. Analytical and synthesis methods, descriptive statistics, and comparison techniques are used for this study. All the companies studied have been on the market for more than ten years and have experienced and well-trained managers and other characteristics that imply the availability of managerial reporting/accounting and the application of adapted models for strategic planning in SMEs. The analysis is intended to draw basic conclusions about the application of strategic management accounting in SMEs. In addition, the authors’ broader intention is to propose ideas for improving the strategic management reporting techniques that could be useful for management, especially in cases where strategic planning has been implemented. The authors find that the owners or managers of SMEs in Bulgaria are not aware of some features of management accounting that could be useful for their business, especially for strategic planning. It is believed that the range of services offered by external accounting organizations limits the level and thus the role of management accounting information for strategic management. Observations show that some models and techniques that could be good indicators of high risk of business failure are not applied because of the limited information base.

The Local tourism products are profitable approach for local citizens of each town to generate employment prospects. One Town One Product is a government campaign that promotes regional pride, indigenous product rediscovery, entrepreneurship, and public-private partnerships as fundamental elements for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).The principal aim of the paper is to evaluate the key success factors and entrepreneurial orientation of tourism entrepreneurs through One Town One Product in the province of Camarines Sur. It assessed the DTI-Registered OTOP beneficiaries particularly its demographic profile; key success factors in terms of entrepreneur, enterprise, and network/stakeholders; also, the entrepreneurial orientation in terms of innovativeness, proactiveness, risk-taking, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy. The data was collected from the 362 OTOP employees in Camarines Sur through a questionnaire. To demonstrate the considerable association between the respondents' profile and their entrepreneurial orientation, a descriptive method was used. Given the results, there is a high priority on small-scale business in terms of entrepreneurs in Camarines Sur who are willing to expand their entrepreneurial skills and abilities. These skills and abilities include innovativeness, proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness, risk taking, as well as autonomy which makes a certain tourism souvenir business strive.

Blockchain technology is recognised as a digital tool that contributes to increasing the competitiveness of a business organisation, and it is most often applied in the financial sector and supply chains. The technology is widely used in developed countries, but it is also gradually entering developing economies. Attention to technology is provoked under the influence of factors de termining innovation development and penetration into the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Some of them are psychological, the others are economical, but in general, they influence the management decision-making to use the technology in the enterprises. The primary purpose of the research is to reveal and group the factors provoking the implementation of blockchain technology in Bulgarian companies. In order to collect the necessary data, an empirical study of the Bulgarian entrepreneurial ecosystem was conducted using a survey method. A factor analysis of the two groups of reasons motivating and limiting the application of blockchain technology was performed with a view to uncovering the hidden factors influencing its implementation in organisations. A regression analysis was then performed to answer the question of which factors most affect the interest in implementing BCT in the business organisation to increase their competitiveness in the supply chain. The research data can be used as a working framework for implementing decentralised software applications in companies that are not informed about the pros and cons of blockchain technology but are looking for a position in the global digitised world.
