“…The lower GDP also implies recession or depression in the country that's why people mainly focus on their basic needs and minimize their unnecessary utilizations, as a result, energy utilization is also minimized, consequently, carbon emission is reduced. The estimated coefficient of the square term of GDP turned out negative to positive which negate the presence of the EKC hypothesis, however, it indicates the U-shaped association between economic growth and carbon emissions and these finding are consistent with Aye and Edoja (2017), Ahmed et al (2017), Yao et al (2019), Halliru et al (2021), and Rahman et al (2021 As the result of study showed that China's BRI promote carbon emissions in BRI participating countries. To combat with carbon emission along the BRI route various efforts have been seen by the Chinese Government to mitigate climate change, reduce ecological effects, and protect the environment through building the green Belt and Road Initiative Assessment" which provides a safeguard measure for the environment.…”

“…Subramaniam and Masron [49] analyzed the effect of education on the environment in 22 developing countries for 1990-2016 via the ARDL approach and disclosed that the positive effect of poverty on environmental degradation can decrease after a certain threshold of educational attainment. Furthermore, some researchers have investigated the relationship between human capital highly dependent on education and CO 2 emissions and found mixed findings [50][51][52][53][54][55] similar to the literature.…”

“…Subsequently, many experts and scholars conducted indepth research on ecology and resources [16][17][18], technology and economy [19,20], and economic consumption [21][22][23] to obtain regional and representative results [24][25][26][27][28][29]. Many studies have illustrated a certain correlation between the regional economy and ecological environment [30][31][32], and in-depth demonstrations and research have been carried out to explore the internal relationship and law governing urbanization level and ecological efficiency [33][34][35][36]. Urbanization, urban spatial form, and expansion mode present different modes in different regions [8,37,38], and their complexity also differs, so pressure on the urban ecological environment is expected to be substantial [39][40][41][42].…”
