This is a major environmental concern because of the surge in the demand for and the use of plastic products, protective gears, personal protective equipment (PPE), disposable life support equipment and general plastic supplies like syringes ( Klemeš et al, 2020 , Kampf et al, 2020 , Nzediegwu and Chang, 2020 ), all used in the prevention and treatment of the virus.
