Improvement of TiO2/LDPE Composite Films for Photocatalytic Oxidation of Acetone

Abstract: Titanium dioxide with coupling agent (ETES) was applied as a photocatalyst for a synthesis of the TiO2/LDPE composite film. The physical properties of TiO2/LDPE composite film were analyzed by a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). TiO2 particles were impregnated into the polymer matrix film as a LDPE composite film. The results from the X-ray Diffraction (XRD) technique revealed that the structure of TiO2/LDPE composite film were anatase crystalline. The chemical structure of the TiO2/ LDPE composite films wer… Show more

“…SEM uses a focused beam of high-energy electrons to generate a variety of signals at the surface of solid specimens. The signals that derive from electron-sample interactions reveal information about the sample including external morphology (texture), chemical composition, and crystalline structure and orientation of materials making up the sample [7][8]. The band gap energy of the catalyst.…”

“…The anatase TiO 2 particles were mixed with PLA/PBAT/PBS polymer matrix as a biopolymer with the ratio of 30/30/70 wt% respectively while anatase TiO 2 particles were kept at 5 and 10wt% and compounded via twin screw extruder at 160 °C. The Bio-composite films were prepared by blown film technique with thickness of 40 µm [4].…”
