This research aims to describe the reading habits, interests, and reading comprehension of grade X students at high schools implementing the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar, Aceh. The research method used was descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sample was 114 grade X students of SMAN 2 Banda Aceh, Unsyiah Laboratory High School, MAS Ruhul Islam Anak Bangsa, and MAS Insan Qurani. This research used a questionnaire and tests as research instruments. Data analyzed by a descriptive qualitative technique by listing raw scores, calculating the average student score, and classifying the results of the samples studied. Research result indicated that the level of reading habits, interests, and reading comprehension of X grade students at high schools implementing the School Literacy Movement program (GLS) varied and had not reached the maximum result. First and foremost, the average mark of reading habits obtained by the four schools is 61% (moderate category) and the average mark of X grade students’ reading habits in each school was also in the moderate category: 59% in SMAN 2 Banda Aceh, 58% in Unsyiah Laboratory High School, 63% in MAS RIAB, and 65% in MAS Insan Qurani. Second, the level of students’ reading interest in those four schools was 67% (moderate category), while the average mark of students’ reading interest in each school was categorized moderate and good, 65% in SMAN 2 Banda Aceh, 62% in Unsyiah Laboratory High School, 71% in MAS RIAB, and 71% in MAS Insan Qurani. Last, reading comprehension level in these four schools was 61% (moderate category), while the average mark for reading comprehension of X grade students in each school was categorized moderate and good, 40% in SMAN 2 Banda Aceh, 65% in Unsyiah Laboratory High School, 71% in MAS RIAB, and 69% in MAS Insan Qurani.

In the 2013 curriculum subjects in primary schools were organized with themes, namely combining all subjects that reflect students’ everyday lives. However, the themes in the student’s book do not integrate one subject with the others and do not reflect the students real life. Therefore, it is hard for many primary school teachers in Padang to implement the integrated learning using the textbooks. This research aims to develop the interactive e-module based on the principles of integrated learning that can facilitate students in carrying out learning process, so it can improve students’ competency. The research and development of interactive e-module use four-D models that consist of four stages, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. The research subject was the interactive e-module based on integrated learning. The respondents of this research were 12 teachers and 70 Grade 5 students of three primary schools in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Data were collected using observation sheets, interview guides, questionnaires, and tests. There are three main results obtained from the research. First, according to expert judgment the interactive e-module is valid. Second, based on teacher and student's responses the module is very practical. Third, based on the student learning outcomes the interactive e-module is effective.

The School Literacy Movement (SLM) was launched in 2015 by the Indonesian government in response to the concerns of many parties regarding the readiness of the Indonesian young generation to face the challenges of the 21st-century. This paper examined the philosophical foundations of SLM by scrutinizing the School Literacy Movement Master Design published in 2019 as the object of study. This study was a descriptive qualitative study, using the inferential content analysis method. The findings were: (1) the philosophical foundation of SLM that is portrayed in the object of study are essentialism, perennialism, progressivism, existentialism, and critical pedagogy, and (2) the object of the study is strongly influenced by the philosophy of progressivism since the writers of the SLM Master Design were more focused on the effort to prepare the students to face the 21st-century challenges. Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) atau The School Literacy Movement (SLM) atau dicanangkan pada tahun 2015 oleh pemerintah Indonesia, sebagai jawaban atas keprihatinan banyak pihak terkait kesiapan generasi muda Indonesia menghadapi tantangan abad 21. Tulisan ini mengkaji landasan filosofis SLM dengan menelaah Desain Induk Gerakan Literasi Sekolah terbitan 2019 sebagai objek kajian. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menggunakan metode analisis isi inferensial. Temuan penelitian adalah: (1) Landasan filosofis SLM yang tergambar dalam objek kajian adalah esensialisme, perenialisme, progresivisme, eksistensialisme, dan pedagogi kritis; dan (2) Objek kajian sangat dipengaruhi oleh filosofi progresivisme karena penulis Desain Induk SLM lebih fokus pada upaya mempersiapkan siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21.
