Influence of the G2m(n) allotype and age on IgG subclass distribution in antibodies to dietary proteins in children with coeliac disease

Abstract: SUMMARYIn 47 children with coeliac disease, IgG 1 was the dominant IgG subclass (mean 61 %) in antibodies to gliadin, a protein component of wheat; IgG2 (22%) and IgG3 (15%) were also found. Very little IgG4 (3%) was detected. Both G2m(n)allotype and the age ofthe patient had an independent effect on the subclass distribution.
