“…C2 and C7 were added to aquacultural water, at 28 • C, containing a certain amount of organic material. The half-life of C8 has previously been found to be between 1 and 2 days at 15 • C in aquacultural and sterilized deionized water [33]. In the present study, C2 and C7 showed a similar stability in a shrimp aquacultural environment at 28 • C, where significant degradation occurred between 2 and 3 days, because there was significantly enhanced WSSV replication in vivo at 72 hpi (Figure 5A).…”

“…The results showed a suppressed WSSV infection (Figure 4B) and increased the survival rate by up to 40% (Figure 4C,D). Based on the findings of previous studies [17,33,40], we consider that C2 and C7 may have a direct influence on the infectivity of WSSV virion particles, rather than on the host's receptor protein, to block virus infection in the early stage. This therefore provides insight into the properties of coumarin products required for anti-WSSV therapeutic inhibitors and for vaccine development.…”

“…increased the survival of zebrafish infected with SVCV and reduced the viral load in zebrafish tissues, which may have been a consequence of the higher IFN and antioxidant response observed in the animals treated with the coumarin derivative (Shen et al 2018a,b). Preincubation of SVCV with coumarin derivative C3007 also reduced the infection of EPC cells by destroying the infectivity of the virion particles and suppressing the virus-binding process (Liu et al 2020b). Moreover, C3007 administered i.p.…”
