Integrated knowledge-based model of innovative product and process development

Abstract: An integrated knowledge-based model of innovative product and process development is dealt with at a business engineering stage of the order-handling manufacturing system. Mechanical products as solid design, also new kinds of products with plastics and sheet metal design have been considered. The developed model helps to systematize and acquire knowledge and experience for definition of customer requirements, configuration of innovative products, process alternatives and preliminary costs. It furnishes a poss… Show more

“…All integrated design functions of new bicycle and its components together with maintenance and manufacturing procedure have been undertaken to the end product producer. The developed integrated knowledge-based model in virtual environment of innovative product and process design has been applied at an early business engineering stage [16]. Product and its components have been tested virtually and employing physical prototypes at the early design stage.…”

“…In modern manufacturing environment the computerization of general functions, exchange of information between all departments and people, application of paperless technologies and concurrent engineering methods are essential. Design, planning and manufacturing control functions must be fully integrated using special models, genetic algorithm-based approaches, CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) principles, Web solutions and other methodologies [1][2][3][4].…”

“…Technological development is changing rapidly and this will certainly affect the type and mode of engineering learning environment. However, the growing importance of online teaching and digital scholarship will assume new proportions due to the growing availability of Internet applications [1][2][3][4]. As online teaching requires sufficient internet connectivity, some of the classrooms and laboratories will be provided with computers, internet facility and projectors so that students can interact with the lecturer.…”
