An integrated knowledge-based model of innovative product and process development is dealt with at a business engineering stage of the order-handling manufacturing system. Mechanical products as solid design, also new kinds of products with plastics and sheet metal design have been considered. The developed model helps to systematize and acquire knowledge and experience for definition of customer requirements, configuration of innovative products, process alternatives and preliminary costs. It furnishes a possibility for the manufacturer to find and to estimate the product and process structure and the cost at an early stage of new business engineering. This integrated knowledge-based model has been tested and adopted in two Lithuanian manufacturing companies. The proposed model is being implemented both in industry and university education process.
Every company has the intention to produce the best quality product and get the highest profit. In the 21st century, it has become much harder to stay competitive because consumers have a large selection of equivalent goods. This article analyses company’s X growth in reference to the shot blasting process in order to investigate if modernization is feasible. Tests of shot blasting work place safety were carried out and all information submitted in a professional risk identification card. Calculations were made to investigate if the robotisation is profitable. Virtual simulation of robotic line was created with Visual Components software.
This work attempts to show some case studies through Infrared thermography involvements in the industrial maintenance. Initially critical points of the essential or very important machines and electrical circulation units for the production have to investigated. The points where we observed abnormal temperature variations were further analysed using other advanced tools like: vibration analyzer, Laser alignment tool, Oil analyser and Ultrasonic detector. The main objective is to prove that by implementing a good scheduled thermography survey one can decrease major expenses and save time. In addition, it has the capacity to contribute to the reliability of maintenance and minimize unexpected plant shutdowns dramatically in small and large-scale industries.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
