Integrative Analysis of Pyroptosis‐Related Prognostic Signature and Immunological Infiltration in Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Abstract: Background. Lung cancer is one of leading causes of human health threatening with approximately 2.09 million initially diagnosed cases and 1.76 million deaths worldwide annually. Pyroptosis is a programmed cell death mediated by Gasdermin family proteins. Pyroptosis could suppress the tumor oncogenesis and progression; nevertheless, pyroptosis could promote tumor growth by forming a suitable microenvironment. Methods. LASSO Cox regression analysis was performed to construct prognostic pyroptosis-related gene (… Show more

“…The inflammatory response significantly influences tumor growth and its response to clinical treatment (7). Interleukin 1 beta (IL1B), an important cytokine in the inflammatory response and a vital mediator of cell pyroptosis and apoptosis (8), has been actively investigated in various types of squamous carcinomas, including lung squamous cell carcinoma (9), cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (10), and esophageal carcinoma (11), but especially oral squamous cell carcinoma (12). IL1B is an excellent indicator of cellular radioresistance and senescence in HPV-negative HNSCC cells without functional involvement in these processes (13).…”
