“…This generated evanescent wave penetrates through the gold layer and propagates in the x-direction (fig 03). The magnitude of propagating wave vector in the x-direction can be expressed as [4]. Firstly we talk about the different components of our configuration sensor with their optical and other properties.…”

“…The propagation vector of surface plasmon involves the refractive index of gold n2, and the hemoglobin n3, because the wave propagation at the metal-surrounding medium interface occurs partly in both the material. Therefore, the surface plasmon propagation vector, Ksp can be defined as [4].…”

“…72,73 In the literature, the increase in the sensitivity depends on the number of graphene layers transferred over the metal thin film and the wavelength of the SPP and may be negligible at telecommunication wavelengths. 27,30,64 The decrease in FOM associated with increased sensitivity is not new in 2D-materials supported plasmonics, 74 and in most cases the effective result after 2D material transfer is similar to the deposition of a very thin layer film (<10 nm) with high refractive index over the external surface of SPR devices, which enhances the near electric field integral expressed by eq 3. 45 To further support our proposal, we link through Figure 8c,d the sensitivity of the devices with different interface configurations to the electromagnetic near-field distribution in the external environment, which controls the value of the normalized shift in the SPP wavevector δk norm , 45 reported in panel d. We observe the same trend in the histograms relative to the value of S RI and δk norm for the different experimental configurations, represented in panels b and d of Figure 8, respectively.…”

“…To overcome this issue, a theoretical approach is considered as an appropriate strategy. In doing so, numerous papers have proposed theoretical modeling of SPR biosensor based on the Kretschmann configuration (Widayanti & Abraha, 2016;Verma, Gupta, RajanJh, 2011;Maurya, Prajapati & Tripathi, 2018;Bhavsar & Prabhu, 2019;Dai et al, 2019;Zhao et al, 2018). However, most of the works (Brahmachari & Ray, 2013;Sadowski, Korhonen & Peltonen, 1995;Sarid & Challener, 2010) done in the formulation and analysis of SPR was employed 84 specialized software.…”
