İran’da Klinik Olarak Sağlıklı Yük Atlarından İzole Edilen Konjunktival Bakteriyel ve Fungal Ajanlar

Abstract: SummaryThis study was conducted to identify bacterial and fungal isolates of the normal eyes in working horses in Iran. Ninety swabs were taken from the conjunctival sac of 45 clinically healthy horses. Aerobic bacterial and fungal cultures were plated. A total of 9 different bacterial species (3 Gram-positive, 6 Gram-negative) and 7 different fungal species (6 molds, 1 yeast) were recovered. Bacillus spp., Staphylococcus spp. and Klebsiella spp. were the most frequently isolated bacteria. Aspergillus spp. and… Show more

“…For this reason, our study is thought to contribute to the recording of the normal conjunctival flora of the horses in the region. This study, just like the rest of the literature [1][2][3]6] , came across mostly Grampositive bacteria in terms of the isolated bacteria group. The species of bacteria and fungi taken from the high elevation group for isolation have similar rates of isolation.…”

“…In the majority of studies on equine species Aspergillus spp is the most common isolate of the normal conjunctiva [2,[8][9][10] , but in domestic carnivores [3] and ruminants including cattle [3,4] and goats [5] generally Cladosporium spp and Penicillium spp were reported to be predominant. In our study, genus Cladosporium (38.89%) also reported as the most frequent isolates of conjunctiva.…”
