However, it is in the final period of his career that we find the presence of a more personal discourse in which selfreferentiality is plentiful and the characteristics he perceived as his own (jocoserio style, verse in arte menor) are consolidated. Based on these identifying marks, the paper undertakes to define the key aspects of Benegasi's editorial strategy as he constructed his own profile as an author through a unique process of self-fashioning.
