This research is to examine the actors mapping and the networking of actors relation in the wetland rural development process, the case study at Ulak Kembahang I district of Pemulutan Barat Ogan Ilir Regency province of South Sumatera. The purpose of this research is to analyzes the positive implications and consequences of the rule and position of each actor in the rural development process. Mix method is used in this study, combine the quantitative and qualitative method. The results shows that the rural development process not only determine by village government but also determine by many actors in the rural society for example the public figures, the religious leaders, the young man organization (Karang Taruna), the women’s organization (PKK), the women’s religious organization, the business women of songket craft, and the man and women’s activities. These actors are grouped in the three types, namely the individual actors, the organizational actors, and the combined of individual and organizational actors. Based on gender, the actors involved consisted of the women (44%) and the man (56%). Networking of the relations actors based on power/interest shows a positive relationship. The degree of power and interest of the each actor are varies from low, middle, and high, measured by lower score (11) to highest score (19).

According to the results of interactions between humans and mangrove forests, the causes of mangrove forest destruction are developing very dynamically. In the sub-district of East Luwuk, Banggai Regency, this study aims to determine the causes of mangrove forest damage. With descriptive analysis, this study utilizes qualitative methods. To determine the factors causing damage to mangroves was done by purposive sampling through interviews. The results showed that the damage to mangrove forests was caused by the conversion of mangrove forests into ponds, rice fields, and settlements. By carrying out restoration, rehabilitation, and restoration of damaged areas and recommending pond management by implementing a silvofishery pattern that can meet community welfare and maintain the survival of the mangrove ecosystem.

Sungai Wain Protected Forest is one of the conservation areas in Balikpapan City which has an essential role in supporting the life of the city’s people.Currently, its existence is threatened due to the various activities and overlapping interests of stakeholders involved in managing the forest. Therefore, forest management that is supported by these stakeholders is urgently needed. This study aimed to identify the stakeholders involved and explain their influences, interests,and roles in Sungai Wain Protected Forest management.Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The respondents were selected using the purposive sampling method, and stakeholder mapping was used to analyze it. The results showed that the stakeholders classified as key players include the Balikpapan Protected Forest Management Unit (KPHL Balikpapan), the East Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Office, Pertamina UP V Balikpapan, and the NGO Foundation Pro Natura.Multi-stakeholder management could be an alternative model for managing the Sungai Wain Protected Forest to synchronize stakeholders’ interests. The KPHL Balikpapan could actas a leading playerand become a driving force in the Sungai Wain Protected Forest’s management efforts due to their appropriate main duties and functions. Hence, the coordination, communication, and cooperation between stakeholders could be well-formed to achieve the management objectives.Keywords: forest management, multi-stakeholder management, stakeholders, Sungai Wain Protected Forest
