This research .is.motivated. by the. existence of. facts. in the.field.which. show.the.low.mathematical.reasoning.skills found in students at SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru. One thing that students must master to achieve learning goals is mathematical reasoning abilities. In other words, students can use mathematics as a reasoning tool both in learning mathematics in class and everyday life. This research aims to determine the difference between students' mathematical reasoning abilities and low learning interest. Good student learning interest will make students happy to learn mathematics without coercion, with good learning interest will affect students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Mathematical reasoning abilities can be improved through increasing student interest in learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, the population in this study were all eighth-grade students of the 2020/2021 academic year. The sample taken was class VIII.2 using a random cluster. Data collection techniques and research instruments are tests of mathematical reasoning abilities on quadrilateral material, questionnaires in questionnaire sheets for learning interests, and interviews. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) There are differences in mathematical reasoning abilities between students who have high learning interests. 2) There are differences in mathematical reasoning abilities between students with low interest in learning.

Islamic education is a future choice, and a reference in developing human potential and the embryo of world civilization. However, Islamic education does not always run smoothly, and in fact, it seems static because the education that is carried out cannot be separated from the system and the laws of life that take place. Therefore, Islamic education must be managed in a professional and quality manner. This paper aims to offer a progressive Islamic education model. Through literature studies from various literatures, which are then described and analysed with a qualitative approach, it shows that the Islamic education model must be designed and oriented towards empowering and developing human potential, so as to produce competitive and productive Human Resources. The basic models and styles of progressive Islamic education are able to create positive forces that can influence and determine human attitudes in life. The stronger the quality and potential of the human person, the more they will be able to have a visionary perspective and be able to realize and deepen the meaning of Islamic education in life as a determinant of identity. Thus, the Islamic education system will immediately be reformulated in accordance with the dynamics of the times, market needs, and based on local wisdom.

<em>This study aims to improve the skills of writing descriptive text using the Example Nonexample model. The subjects of this study were 21 fifth grade students of Bumi I Elementary School in 2019/2020. This study uses data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, documentation and writing skills tests that are tested with content validity, triangulation of data sources and triangulation techniques. The results obtained will be processed by data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman. From the results before applying the Example Nonexample model, classical completeness was only 5 students (23.8%), then after applying the Example Nonexample model the results of writing description text skills increased by 12 students (57.2%) in the first cycle and 18 students (85.7%) in the second cycle. So, the Example Nonexample model can improve description writing skills in fifth grade students of Bumi I Elementary School in 2019/2020 school year. The teacher can use the Example Nonexample model in learning to write description texts especially in the fifth grade of Bumi I Elementary School.</em>
