The concentration of U in rutile is particularly low in mafic rocks (i.e., eclogites), whereas rutile in metasediments and granitoids can be richer in U, especially if metamorphosed at high temperature (Vry and Baker 2006;Kooijman et al 2010;Ewing et al 2013).
