Latent ECSO VIRUS Infections of Sucking Pigs: I. Isolation of latent enteroviruses from tissue cultures, obtained from kidneys of apparently healthy sucking pigs

Abstract: Summary Primary tissue cultures were prepared from kidneys of 52 clinically healthy sucking pigs. The kidney tissues yielded trypsinized cells with preserved dividing ability and metabolism. As a result of their multiplication, a confluent cell sheet was formed on the glass surface in the course of 72 to 96 hours incubation at 37° C.
