Latent Leakage Fault Identification and Diagnosis Based on Multi-Source Information Fusion Method for Key Pneumatic Units in Chinese Standard Electric Multiple Units (EMU) Braking System

Abstract: To identify and diagnose the latent leakage faults of key pneumatic units in the Chinese standard Electric Multiple Units (EMU) braking system, a multi-source information fusion method based on Kalman filtering, sequential probability ratio test (SPRT), and support vector machine (SVM) is proposed. The relay valve is taken as an example for research. Firstly, Kalman's state estimation function is used to obtain the innovation sequence, and the innovation sequence is input into the SPRT model to help recognize … Show more

“…The microcomputer-controlled straight-through electropneumatic braking system, which mainly consists of driver controller, compressed air supply system, electronic brake control unit (EBCU), pneumatic brake control unit(PBCU), and basic braking system is widely adopted in high-speed trains 8 . As shown in Figure 1, driver controller generates braking command signals and transmits them to EBCU for braking force calculation and distribution.…”

“…Based on the above ideas, in order to make full use of the acquired data for prognosis, data augmentation was carried out for the training set and testing set, and an improved multivariate support vector regression (IMSVR) algorithm was proposed. Specifically, different from utilizing the input vector and output vector directly, new input vector X and output vector Y were constructed according to equations (11) and (12).…”

“…With the rapid development of high-speed railroads, the number of electric multiple units (EMUs) operating on high-speed railway lines, along with their operational density, is increasing [1,2]. Ensuring the safe operation of EMUs, each of which utilizes a singlephase AC power supply and the AC/DC/AC traction drive system, is crucial [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. The vehicle-mounted high-voltage cable, a key component for power transmission, directly impacts the safe operation of EMUs [11,12].…”
