A learner's capacity to acquire and process information in a learning environment is their "learning style". One of the essential applications of learning styles is that teachers may easily incorporate them into their instructional strategies. Students learn in various ways; amongst the rest, the visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic (VAK) are the most prominent. This endeavour aims to identify secondary students' preferred sensory modalities for learning and analyse the association between academic achievement and learning style subscales. The study included 100 students selected using simple random sampling from Karnataka's class 8th and 9th grades secondary school students. Findings reveal that the predominant sensory modality of learning was aural and more prevalent than visual and kinaesthetic learning (34%). The relationship between learning style and academic success is statistically significant (p< 0.05). The main effects of the three variables - visual, auditory and kinaesthetic are also substantial on academic achievement. The female students were more dominant in the blend of all (Collaborative) learning styles.

Kitab Kuning (Islamic book used as a source of learning in pesantren) was considered difficult by santri (students at pesantren. There are many method to learn kitab kuning and one of them is Tamyiz method. This method is expected overcome difficulties in reading Kitab Kuning. It serves as key strategies for santri to be able to directly read, outlines the structure of the word while translating Kitab Kuning. The study was aimed at describing Kitab Kuning learning in 100 hours using the method of Tamyiz in terms of its planning, Organizing, Assessing, Concept of the Kitab Kuning learning pattern 100 hours using the method of Tamyiz. This research was qualitative using a descriptive method. The data were collected from several sources namely: pesantren, its staff, the management of the education and teaching field, pesantren management and santri (student in pesantren). Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation study.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi disekolah tujuan yaitu masih rendahnya motivasi, minat serta masih banyak siswa yang masih bermalas-malasan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran sehingga berdampak pada hasil belajarnya dengan KKM yang masih jauh dari standar yang telah ditentukan yaitu 70. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh pendekatan kontekstual dengan berbantukan PPT terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Harapan Bhakti Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang melibatkan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Populasi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Harapan Bhakti yang berjumlah 4 kelas. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VIIIA dan siswa kelas VIIIB. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dua cara yaitu tes kemampuan awal siswa (pretest) dan tes akhir (posttest) sementara itu teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis deskriptif dan teknik analisis inferensial. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan konstektual berbantukan PPT adalah 85,00 sedangkan hasil belajar siswa tidak berbantukan PPT adalah 81,83. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa nilai thitung >ttabel atau 2,218 >1,67 dan besar nilai signifikan <0,05 yang berarti bahwa hipotesis H1 diterima dan H0 di tolak. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan konstektual berbantukan PPT pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Harapan Bhakti.
