El presente trabajo analiza el tratamiento que la prensa española hace del islam y los/as musulmanes. Para ello se ha tomado como referente la cobertura que El País y El Mundo realizaron del atentado a la revista Charlie Hebdo en 2015. El objetivo ha sido conocer cómo los citados diarios notician sobre el islam y los/as musulmanes antes y después de dichos ataques; y con ello tratar de establecer una comparativa e indagar sobre el posible incremento de la islamofobia en los medios después de un atentado de estas características. Se han analizado los titulares de unidades informativas registradas durante 4 meses. Los resultados apuntan a la existencia de islamofobia antes y después de los atentados en ambos periódicos, con algunos matices de recrudecimiento de la misma después del atentado.

Press coverage of the Barcelona and Cambrils attacks in Eldiario.es: Analysis of informative treatment of Islam As builders of collective imaginaries, the mainstream media have, for years, disseminated a distorted view of Islam through the use of a negative terminology and approach. Was this trend repeated in the case of Eldiario.es during the coverage of the attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils in 2017? To answer this question, a content analysis is carried out of eight news items that alluded directly or indirectly to Islam published within the 48-hour timeframe following the attacks. The associated topics are analyzed and two aspects are confirmed: the active denunciation of structural violence and the terminology used. As a result, it is verified that at the thematic level Eldiario.es was interested in covering the Muslim believers' condemnation of the attacks. However, the use of terminology continues to reproduce certain errors of the traditional press. In addition, there is no contextual framework that explores the root causes of the Islamophobic acts that took place after the attacks.

The migration and the problem of preserving national identity remain the central issues of the political agenda and public debate in many modern countries. The article discusses the views of the French imam Tareq Oubrou – the author of the concept of "sharia of the minority" – on the issues of Muslim identity, as well as the integration of migrants in France. T. Oubrou symbolizes a figure at the junction of two civilizations: a kind of theorist and mediator for the reorganization of Islam in France. The research was based on monographs, individual articles, and texts of speeches of the French imam over the past twenty years. The work involved the methods of cognitive and conceptual text analysis, which made it possible to reconstruct the structure of the political message and its individual components. The research results suggest that T. Oubrou refocuses Islamic identity to its inner dimension by revising its defining markers. Minimizing Islamic identity is designed to preserve and maintain the Muslim presence in the West. At the same time, he nationalizes Islamic identity, subordinating it to the civil and political norms of France. Despite the fact that the proposed identification model evokes ambiguous emotions in the Muslim environment and great doubts in the host society, some of its provisions are in demand at the state level.
