‘Lenin’ and ‘Brezhnev’: Steel making and the Bulgarian economy, 1956–90

Résumé Institués en URSS dès leur origine, les subbotniki sont des jours où la main-d’œuvre est mobilisée gratuitement, sur la base du volontariat. L’enquête ethnographique menée en Biélorussie montre que les raisons de la participation des citoyens ordinaires à ces journées sont différentes de celles promues par le pouvoir. Mais la solidarité éprouvée lors des subbotniki , si elle n’est pas la conséquence du discours des autorités, y fait toutefois écho, favorisant ainsi la légitimation du régime dictatorial.
