Results Results: operative time ranged from nine to 180 minutes. The length of stay ranged from 24 to 120 hours. Conversion occurred in 28 patients (2.92%), of which 67.9% were women and 28.6% men, a minilaparotomy having been performed in 11 cases (39.3%) and in 17 (60.7%) the conventional open route. The perioperative complications were two ruptures of the gallbladder, a failure in the pneumoperitoneum and in clipping of the cystic duct. Post-operative complications were five umbilical incisional hernias. Systemic complications were: nine arrhythmias, one postoperative jaundice, one acute myocardial infarction and one mesenteric infarction. Mortality occurred in three patients (0.3%), one due to perioperative myocardial infarction, one due to sepsis and one because of the mesenteric infarction. Conclusion Conclusion Conclusion Conclusion Conclusion: elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy had low hospital stay and low morbimortality. The operative time and hospital stay were short, demonstrating that laparoscopic cholecystectomy is safe and effective in the elderly.

INTRODUÇÃOO início da digestão de gorduras é realizado pelo fígado, o qual ocorre devido à secreção de bile, isto é, um líquido amarelo ou verde emulsificante de gorduras. Além de ser o segundo maior órgão do corpo humano, o fígado também é a maior glândula. Em adultos, 2,5% do peso corporal equivalem ao peso do órgão e, em fetos maduros, são aproximadamente 5% do peso corporal. Anatomicamente, o fígado situa-se no quadrante superior direito do abdome, da sétima a décima primeira costela, protegido principalmente pela caixa torácica e pelo diafragma (MOORE et al., 2013).Em condições incomuns, a bile armazenada na vesícula biliar pode precipitar, ocorrendo a formação de cristais de colesterol que, consequentemente, depositam-se, causando desconforto abdominal. Esta patologia é denominada de cálculo biliar ou colelitíase. Na maioria dos casos, é necessária a realização de colecistectomia, cuja vesícula biliar é removida com a finalidade de aliviar os sintomas (ALVES; FONSCECA, 2015).Dessa forma, com o propósito de sanar doenças relacionadas à região hepática, são realizados acessos J O R N A L I N T E R D I S C I P L I N A R D E B I O C I Ê N C I A SHomepage: http://www.ojs.ufpi.br/index.php/jibi A B S T R A C TThe bile ducts lead bile, an emulsifier secretion produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder, which assists in the digestion of fats when this is present in the digestive tract. The anatomical and topographic understanding of the biliary routes serves to a successful surgical intervention because are continuous reports of anatomical variations. In some procedures, such as in cholecystectomy, which consists of surgical removal of the gallbladder, in reports of lesions in the bile ducts. This is a literature review research in the databases of CAPES, MEDLINE, LILACS and in a virtual library SciELO, with the objective of identifying anatomical variations in the bile ducts and associating them with the surgical interventions that occur in the region. It was observed that the most common are related to the position and morphology of the cystic duct and accessory hepatic ducts. Thus, despite the fact that the reports are maintained in the literature, there are always new scientific studies for the anatomical variations in the bile ducts. We conducted a retrospective study of medical records of patients admitted to HGF with the diagnosis of IBDI, evaluating the following variables: gender, age, origin, conditions of cholecystectomy, type of surgery, symptoms, exams performed, surgical findings, classification of injury, treatment, complications, total duration of hospitalization and discharge conditions. Results Results ResultsResults Results: There were 27 confirmed cases of IBDI. Two injuries occurred during laparoscopic cholecystectomy cholecystectomy. Only one patient was diagnosed intraoperatively. The most frequent sign was jaundice after cholecystectomy. Hepato-duodenal Y-en-Roux anastomosis was the most often employed surgical technique (85.2%). Most patients were discharged from hospital in good clinical condition (88.8%), however, we found high morbidity rates for this disease, exemplified by the multiple hospitalizations and longer hospital stay (mean 31 days). Conclusion Conclusion Conclusion Conclusion Conclusion: Most injuries occurred during open cholecystectomy, jaundice was the most frequent sign upon admission. There was a high hospitalization length of stay, caused by postoperative complications, which could be explained by delayed diagnosis resulting in a large delay in treatment.
