Lipid content and cryotolerance of in vitro-produced bovine embryos treated with forskolin before vitrification

Show more

“…Parallel remarks were noted in cattle embryos by Meneghel et al. (2017) in which various levels of forskolin addition (2.5, 5 or 10 µM) to the embryo in vitro culture medium before vitrification did not induce substantial changes in the rate of blastocyst development between the treated and control groups. Similarly, Sanches et al.…”

“…Increasing the level of cAMP mediated by the stimulation of forskolin can activate the downstream degradation pathway, increasing calcium signalling in pancreatic ductal epithelial cells (PDEC), but the inhibition of IBMX leaves calcium free to bind with calcein (Albuz et al., 2010). It was documented that the pre‐treatment with forskolin (5.0 μM) for 24 hr before vitrification is influential in decreasing the intracytoplasmic lipid level and, therefore, enhances cryotolerance of IVP bovine embryos (Meneghel et al., 2017). Moreover, those cAMP modulators also sustained gap junction activity, increased cAMP production and transzonal projections (TZP) function (Thongkittidilok et al., 2020).…”
