Long noncoding RNA DRAIC acts as a microRNA-122 sponge to facilitate nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell proliferation, migration and invasion via regulating SATB1

Abstract: Increasing evidences have revealed that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are frequently involved in various cancers. However, the expression and function of lncRNA DRAIC in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) remain unknown. In this study, we found that DRAIC was significantly increased in NPC tissues. Increased expression of DRAIC was positively correlated with advanced clinical stages of NPC patients. Functional assays revealed that ectopic expression of DRAIC enhances NPC cell growth, migration and invasion. DRAIC … Show more

“…Considering that the role of this lncRNA has not been investigated in colon cancer before this study, further experiments are essential to validate the effect of ZNF503-AS1 on colon cancer prognosis. DRAIC could inhibit the progression of prostate cancer ( Saha et al, 2020 ) and gastric cancer ( Zhang Z. et al, 2020 ), facilitate the proliferation and migration of nasopharyngeal carcinoma ( Liao et al, 2019 ) and regulate autophagic flux ( Tiessen et al, 2019 ). PTPRD-AS1 had potential as a prognostic predictor and was included in an immunotherapeutic response lncRNA signature for bladder cancer ( Gao X. et al, 2019 ; Wu et al, 2020 ).…”

“…Based on the differential expression of DRAIC in GC and NC tissues and its potential role in several malignant tumors [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17], we decided to explore the relationship between DRAIC/ NFRKB and malignant phenotype of GC cells. It was found that DRAIC can restrain the proliferation abilities of HGC-27 and MKN45 cells ( Fig.…”

“…The lncRNA DRAIC gene, which is located on human chromosome 15q23, was reported as a novel tumor regulator in several cancers recently, but it seemed to exhibit different biological effects in cancer cells from different sources [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]. On account of the potential value of DRAIC as a GC marker and target, we intended to reveal the expression characteristics and precise mechanism of DRAIC.…”

“…Other known oncogenic lncRNAs involved in NPC include HOTTIP, HOTAIR, ROR, XIST, HNF1A-AS, DRAIC, NPCCAT1, ANRIL, H19, LINC01385, LINC01503, CASC15, PXN-AS1-L, LINC00460, and UCA1, which involve in increasing cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and metastasis [106][107][108][109][110][111][112][113][114][115][116][117][118][119][120]. High expressions of LINC00319, LINC01503, HOTTIP, PXN-AS1-L, ANRIL, HOTAIR, LINC01385, and XIST are associated with poor prognosis and short overall survival in NPC [106,107,109,113,115,117,120,121].…”
