Abstract: El artículo indaga las dinámicas recientes de los programas de doctorado en los posgrados en Argentina y Brasil, por lo que se sitúa en el campo temático de los estudios regionales sobre educación superior. “…When researching the reality of PD in Ibero-America in the main databases, such as Scopus, SciELO and Google Scholar, we found studies that reference only two national Higher Education systems in this modality: Mexico (Patiño Salceda, 2019;De La Fare;Rovelli, 2021) and Brazil (Calderón et al, 2019;Serva;Calderón;Dias, 2017). “…In this scenario, this article aims to carry out a comparative study between PD in Brazil and Mexico, the only Ibero-American countries that have specific legislation for this type of doctoral training, aiming to analyze their convergences, divergences and specificities. This is a study of an exploratory, analytical-descriptive nature, which falls within the field of comparative Education of educational programs and systems (Ferreira, 2008), inserted in the context of, in Latin America and Ibero-America as a whole, "works beginning to be published that address the topic of offering professional doctorates" (De La Fare;Rovelli, 2021, p. 4).
