Abstract:Traditionally, surgical resection has been the treatment of choice in many patients with hepatocellular adenoma because of the risk of rupture, hemorrhage and malignant transformation. However, some patients are not amenable for surgery due to the extensive involvement of the liver, as in patients with liver adenomatosis. We report 2 cases with liver adenomatosis in which we combined surgery with open and percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for lesions located in both lobes of the liver. Minimal invasive trea… Show more

Thermal ablation for the treatment of hepatocellular adenoma had a primary and secondary efficacy of 88 and 100%, respectively. The major complication rate was 4.5%. The clinical efficacy during a median follow-up of 1.7 year was 100%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
