Managing Wind Turbine Generators with a Profit Maximized Approach

Abstract: In Europe, at least 3 GW installed capacity of wind turbine generators (WTG) will fall out of subsidy schemes every year from 2021 onwards. An estimated 50% of this capacity cannot be replaced with new WTG due to commercial and legal restrictions. The remaining options are either to sell the electricity without subsidies on the wholesale electricity market—a novelty for most WTG, as most are receiving a feed-in tariff—or their dismantlement. Since the electricity market fixes the price at the intersection of d… Show more

“…However, increasing electric power generation should be realized with meeting important requirements in the processes of developing, and installing wind energy conversion technologies. This deems that power maximization demands should be considered in association with the amount of costs and time needed to develop and use WECS technologies in addition to the efficiency and reliability of the approach employed [ 30 ]. In this sense, enlarging wind turbine blades and reinstalling grid infrastructures are related to the physical prototyping-based engineering approach of enhancing wind energy harvesting technologies for harnessing maximum wind power from wind resources.…”

“…Introduction While the global wind power capacity is growing at astonishing rates, the guaranteed profit margins for owners and operators are constantly being compressed due to competitive energy markets [1]. Owners and managers of such assets are exploring additional revenue creation through the optimisation of their operation and maintenance activities.…”
