Abstract: Abstrak:Pesantren dan ajaran-ajaran sosial keagamaannya merupakan topik kajian yang pelik dan menantang. Artikel ini dengan pendekatan analisis kritishistoris dan logika reflektif ingin menegaskan bahwa pesantren seharusnya bersikap arif dan hati-hati dalam menghadapi praktik purifikasi ekstrem dan gejala globalisasi.
