“…Why this HGGHR could form and accumulate in the clay-dominated sediments remains unclear. Previous studies have indicated that the dynamic accumulation of a gas hydrate system may have occurred in the Shenhu area, as evidenced by migrated submarine channellevee systems where gas hydrates differentially precipitated (Zhang et al, 2020a), venting hydrate systems identified from seismic profiles (Liang et al, 2021), paleo-cold seeps indicated by authigenic carbonates and pore water anomalies (Lin et al, 2016;Deng et al, 2020;Hu et al, 2020;Zhang et al, 2022), and the coexistence of gas hydrates and free gas (Qian et al, 2018;Qin et al, 2020;Zhang et al, 2020b).
