Methods for integration of process planning and production planning

Abstract: Integration is often considered to be a tangible word.In fact integration is diffuse: it docs not express in any detail how 10 conduct integration initiatives. On the other hand, integration docs represent a very efficient way of improving the operational characteristics of a manufacturing facility. The concepts provided for integration are derived from the discovery of rime-dependent tasks within the process planning domain. When operating in dynamic environments it is important to separate static and dynamic … Show more

“…The interactive approach is also advocated by an integration approach called &dquo;Concurrent Process Planning&dquo; (CPP) [66,67]. Four types of process planning activities: design specific process planning, order specific process planning, schedule specific process planning, and production specific process planning occur at different stages of the life cycle of production orders.…”

“…Larsen [7] and Alting [3] arranged different approaches to integrated process planning into three types; The concept of non-linear process planning (NLPP) or flexible process planning, closed loop process planning (CLPP) and distributed process planning (DPP).…”

“…Khoshnevis and Chen (1989) introduced the concept of dynamic feedback into the IPPS. The integration model proposed by Zhang (1993) and Larsen (1993) extended the concepts of alternative process plans and dynamic feedback and defined an expression to the methodology of hierarchical approach. Some earlier works of the integration strategy had been summarised in Tan and Khoshnevis (2000), and Wang et al (2006).…”

“…Many models of IPPS have been proposed, and they can be classified into three basic models based on IPPS: Non-linear Process Planning (NLPP) (Beckendorff et al, 1991), Closed-Loop Process Planning (CLPP) (Khoshnevis and Chen, 1989) and Distributed Process Planning (DPP) (Zhang, 1993;Larsen, 1993).…”
