Microbiologic changes in subgingival plaque before and during the early period of orthodontic treatment

Abstract: The placement of orthodontic appliances affects the subgingival microbial composition even during the early period of orthodontic treatment, increasing the prevalence of periodontopathogens, especially in the molar region.
