Microwave absorption studies of polyaniline nanocomposites encapsulating gold nanoparticles on the surface of reduced graphene oxide in the presence of 2-naphthalene sulfonic acid

Abstract: Polyaniline nanocomposites containing gold nanoparticles (GNPs) attached to the surface of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) were chemically prepared using β-naphthalene sulfonic acid as a dopant. The synthesized composites were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and UV-vis spectroscopy, and their surface morphology and amended crystallinity were determined by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. Further the elemental analysis was also performed to identify the … Show more

“…has been shown in the short range for more clarity of the spectral information for PANI and the composites PANI/PBS. The bands observed at 1579 and 1499 cm −1 in PANI are, respectively, assigned to the non‐symmetric vibration mode of C=C in the quinoid and benzenoid ring systems in polyaniline . The stretching vibration mode of C–N in aromatic amine nitrogen (quinoid system) in the doped PANI is found at 1310 cm −1 , which corresponds to the oxidation or protonation state.…”

“…Basavaraja and coworkers [104] synthesized the composite of PANI−gold nanoparticle (GP)-GO composite and checked its EMI shielding in 2-12 GHz frequency range. In another work on PANI-GP-GO composite, PANI was doped using β-naphthalene sulphonic acid [105]. Chen and coworkers [106] used hybrid fillers of CNT and graphene nanosheets (GNS) in PANI.…”
