Migration and Transnationalism

Abstract: Her research uses Tongan textiles and gift exchange to analyse Tongan women's agency and their communities' ethnic identities in Auckland, New Zealand, and Oakland, California. She teaches courses on the anthropology of art and material culture, multiculturalism, and ethnic expression and has managed a community arts project with Tongan textile artists in Oakland.
