Abstract:We demonstrate minimum energy operation using a robust approach to asynchronous logic design combined with the use of sleep transistors. The combined approach yields extremely low power and energy for a system operating in the subthreshold regime. This enables operation at voltages below those associated with the previously proposed minimum energy operating point (MEP) and therefore appreciably reduces the energy consumption compared to MEP. We also demonstrate that the robustness of our asynchronous system un… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
