Objective: To understand how the nursing staff perceives the care provided to people in situations of psychiatric urgencies and emergencies in the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU – Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência). Method: Descriptive and qualitative study conducted in the Northeast region of Brazil with 34 of the SAMU nursing workers. Data were obtained by semi-structured interviews and processed by the Thematic Analysis. Results: The analysis of interviews allowed the identification of three categories: mechanical practice, need for qualification and (de)humanization of care. The results showed that the care offered to users in psychiatric urgency or emergency situations is based on mechanistic and specific actions. Final considerations: Nursing workers perceive that the care for people in situations of psychiatric urgency and emergency in SAMU is mainly based on physical and chemical containment measures, performing a little resolute and dehumanized care and raising the need for professional qualification.

An experience report that aims to present the systematization of care for the management of psychic crises developed by the SAMU-DF Mental Health Center. The methodology, based on the steps of the Maguerez’s Arch, allowed both the identification of professionals’ difficulties regarding psychic crises management and the construction of the system called “Psychosocial Care Circuit’’ to guide the assistance of the mobile pre-hospital care. The Circuit has as mnemonic AEIOU, and each letter corresponds to an element evaluated as necessary for the psychic crisis intervention. Therefore, it is possible to affirm that the permanent education in health enables the transformative action of professionals, in addition to transforming the reality in which they are inserted, and that the systematization has accelerated the consolidation of the necessary skills for psychic crises care.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar os atendimentos de natureza psiquiátrica, realizados pelo serviço pré-hospitalar móvel de urgência. Método: estudo retrospectivo com análise dos registros de atendimentos de natureza psiquiátrica, realizados pelo Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência de uma capital do Nordeste brasileiro no ano de 2014. Resultados: foram realizados 38.317 atendimentos pelo Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência, sendo que 1.088 (2,8%) eram psiquiátricos. A amostra foi composta, em sua maioria, por usuários do sexo masculino (64,8%), na faixa etária de 20 a 59 anos (81,4%), com média de idade de 35 anos. Houve predomínio de quadros de agitação e/ou agressividade (65,7%) e 8,0% dos usuários encontravam-se sobre suspeita de uso de bebidas alcoólicas. As Unidades de Suporte Básico foram acionadas em 96,8% das ocorrências e 91,6% dos usuários foram encaminhados para o hospital psiquiátrico. Ressalta-se a ocorrência de tentativas e ideações suicidas em 7,6% dos atendimentos, com maioria do sexo feminino (54,9%). Observou-se associação significativa entre o tempo de atendimento e as variáveis: motivo do atendimento (p=0,003), realização de procedimentos (p=0,000) e uso de medicação (p=0,000). Conclusão: o estudo mostrou elevado número de atendimentos de natureza psiquiátrica realizado pelo Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência, evidenciando sua importância como um dos componentes da Rede de Atenção Psicossocial. Entretanto, o destino dos usuários ainda continua sendo o hospital psiquiátrico.
