Molecular tagging of biocontrol fungus Trichoderma asperellum and its colonization in soil

Abstract: Aims:To conduct molecular tagging of the biocontrol fungus Trichoderma asperellum strain T 4 and elucidate its colonization patterns in soil. Methods and Results: We constructed an expression vector harbouring a hygromycin B-resistant gene (hph) and an efficient green fluorescent protein (egfp) gene. By applying Agrobacterium AGL-1-mediated genetic transformation technology, we conducted molecular tagging of T. asperellum and monitored the colonization dynamics of T. asperellum in soil. The results of tracking… Show more

“…A study suggested that Trichoderma and other beneficial microorganisms would help soil microbiome recover after soil fumigation disinfestation [ 24 ]. Also, it has been reported that Trichoderma could be used as the biocontrol fungi for plant disease prevention [ 25 ]. Not only that, it has also been documented that some Trichoderma strains could suppress pathogens like F .…”

“…The ability of antagonistic microorganisms to colonize the soil directly affects the efficacy and stability of their biocontrol effects and is also an important indicator for assessing the potential of biocontrol sources [51]. In this study, Acr.…”
