In the 21st century, the use of innovative and digital-based teaching media are required. This research aimed at examining the effect of gamification based on local stories as teaching media on fifth grade elementary school students’ motivation. Quasi experimental with one group pre-test post-test design was implemented. The study was conducted at SD N 1 Penarukan where 25 of fifth grade students in academic year 2019/2020 were involved as the sample of study. Three instruments were administered to collect the data; pre-test post-test, treatment instrument and interview. The result showed that post-test mean score has significantly improved compared to pre-test score (42.29 > 23.35). Hypothesis testing result (paired sample t-test) showed the tobs value was higher than tcv (20.811>1.677) with α = 0.05, which indicated that gamification positively affected students’ motivation. The interview result revealed that the students are highly motivated to learn by using gamification.

Employability merupakan bagian penting yang harus dimiliki setiap individu dalam memasuki dunia kerja, karena employability mempengaruhi perilaku atau usaha individu dalam mencari pekerjaan, kualitas pekerjaan yang dipilih, dan hasil pencarian kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan menyelidiki apakah penilaian diri mampu memprediksi tingkat employability siswa. Peneliti memilih siswa kelas XII SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bambanglipuro sebagai subjek penelitian (N=433) dengan kriteria telah melaksanakan praktek kerja industry. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 168 siswa yang terdiri dari siswa kelas TSM D, TKR, C, TKR D, MM A, RPL, dan TPHP. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara random dengan teknik cluster sampling. Skala model likert sebagai instrumen utama dalam mempreroleh data emprik. Untuk menjawab hipotesis peneliti menggunakan teknik regresi linier sederhana dengan bantuan program SPSS V.23. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa penilaian diri memiliki pengaruh yang sangat signifikan terhadap tinggi rendahnya employability (p<0,000). Temuan ini memberi bukti bahwa penilaian diri sebagai faktor internal cukup mampu dalam meningkatkan employability. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor internal adalah salah satu faktor penting dalam memprediksi employability siswa SMK.

Motivation to learn is one of the factors that can play a role in determining student employability. This study aimed to empirically test the role of motivation to learn on student employability. The population in this study were all grade twelve students in Vocational High School 1 Dlingo Bantul Yogyakarta, which is as many as 110 students. The sample in this study was 54 grade twelve students of Vocational High School 1 Dlingo Bantul, which consisted of two classes namely fashion and wood craft classes. The selection of the research sample was made by randomization using the cluster random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by using the employability scale and motivation to learn scale. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson product-moment analysis technique. The analysis result shows that the magnitude of the correlation coefficient (r) between motivation to learn and employability was 0.747, p = 0.000 (p < 0.01). This finding indicates that there is a very significant positive correlation between motivation to learn and student employability. Motivation to learn contributes as large as 55.8 percent of employability. Thus, motivation to learn does contribute to explaining the level of employability of Vocational High School students.
