“…Besides two-phase systems, multi-phased anaerobic baffled reactor (MP-ABR) operation on a pilot scale is also demonstrated. A MP-ABR performance was evaluated with FW as the substrate for biogas production for a period of 175 d [87]. With a HRT of 30 d, when the four-chambered ABR was operated with an OLR of 0.5-1.0 g-VS/L d, removal efficiencies of 85.3% (COD total ), 94.5% (COD soluble ), 89.6% (VFA) and 86.4% (VS) were reported to be achieved for the generation of biogas at 215.57 mL/g-VS removed d. These pilot scale studies clearly demonstrates the commercialization feasibility of FW to bioenergy technology, and suggests for suitable framework and policy making towards deployment of such technologies.…”
