This research aims to illustrate the implementation of character education in Social Studies learning. It uses naturalistic qualitative method. It was located at junior high school 4 Rumbio Jaya, Kampar Regency. The subject of this research was a Social Studies teacher. The data collection consisted of observation, documentation, and interview. The data analysis technique in this research used qualitative data analysis procedure such as data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/ verification. The result of this study showed that: 1) the teacher has applied character values in Social Studies learning. The values have been attached in the syllabus and lesson plans that are used in the learning process. There were 11 out of 20 characters values applied during the first meeting, while on the second meeting there were 10 values. 2) During the implementation, the characters on the lesson plans and syllabus weren't fully integrated due to the lack of support from the conditions and classroom environment. 3) During the learning process, especially the closing part, the teacher didn't inform the students about the lessons that would be learned for the next meeting. As for the evaluation, the teacher didn't provide a follow-up to the success of learning. 4) Hindrances in implementing character education at school are the limitation of school facilities and infrastructure.

The digital era hurts the crisis of student character, especially the nationalism character. Some lecturers fail to respond wisely due to the low use of digital-based learning media. This study aims to analyze the role of Pancasila Education lecturers in fostering the character of nationalism in the era of disruption, and the strategy of the Pancasila Education course in developing the character of student nationalism through video-based learning in the era of disruption. This research uses a qualitative approach and descriptive research methods. Data collection techniques use interviews, observations, literature studies, and questionnaires. The data analysis used is interactive, while the research subjects are 2 lecturers and 28 students. The role of Pancasila Education lecturers is very important in fostering the character of student nationalism so that learning methods and media must be based on digital technology, especially video-based ones. Video-based learning for the Pancasila Education course is a useful strategy to develop the character of student nationalism because it is easily accessible. The results of this study are an alternative for lecturers and teachers in building the nationalistic character of students, considering that the digital era hurts the millennial generation.

This paper discusses the limitations of the liberal model of multiculturalism as a conceptual framework suitable for thinking about justice in complex ethnoreligious national contestations by introducing a wide spectrum of its critics. Liberal formulations of multiculturalism, it is argued, do not challenge the underpinning power infrastructure of the polity nor the normative definition of belonging as articulated by the so-called 'majority culture'. Conversely, the polycentric tactic articulated by Nancy Fraser indeed offers the possibility for a counter hegemonic reimagining of the power arrangements. But it does not address how religion may partake in such introspective rethinking. This process does not imply merely a power reconfiguration. It also entails a reassessment and rethinking of the legitimizing ethos of the nation.
