Neutral syndrome

Abstract: Neutral models, formerly confined to ecology and evolutionary biology, are spreading. In recent years they've been applied to explaining the diversity of baby names, scientific citations, cryptocurrencies, pot decorations, literary lexica, tumour variants and much more besides.
