Niastella caeni sp. nov., isolated from activated sludge

Abstract: The GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession numbers for the 16S rRNA gene sequences and the whole genome of strain HX-16-21 T are MK812841 and STFF00000000, respectively. One supplementary table and six supplementary figures are available with the online version of this article.

“…The genome sequence features of strain MAH-29 T are shown in Table S1. The genomic DNA G+C content of strain MAH-29 T , directly calculated from its genome sequence, was 43.8 mol% which is in the range of the previously described species of the genus Niastella [1][2][3][4][5][6]. The differences in genomes between strain MAH-29 T and the closest related type strains (N. vici DJ57 T , N. koreensis GR20-10 T and N. yeongjuensis GR20-13 T ) are shown in Table S2.…”

“…They contain menaquinone 7 (MK-7) as the predominant respiratory ubiquinone and iso-C 15:0 , iso-C 15:1 G and iso-C 17:0 3OH as the major fatty acid components. The DNA G+C content of members of this genus ranges from 41.4 to 45.8 mol% [1–6]. In this study, we report on the isolation and characterization of a novel bacterial species of the genus Niastella , represented by strain MAH-29 T , isolated from rhizospheric soil of a persimmon tree.…”
