Nonlinear Analysis of Mineral Wool Fiberization Process

Abstract: In this paper, the mineral wool fiberization process on a spinner wheel was studied by means of the nonlinear time series analysis. Melt film velocity time series was calculated using computer-aided visualization of the process images recorded with a high speed camera. The time series was used to reconstruct the state space of the process and was tested for stationarity, determinism, chaos, and recurrent properties. Mineral wool fiberization was determined to be a low-dimensional and nonstationary process. The… Show more

“…However, it was not mature to describe the process by numerical simulation while studying the practical problems of centrifugal wool formation. As the complex fluid resulted from many influencing factors, the simulation results differ greatly from the actual results [20][21][22]. In addition, in the real production process, high rotating speed resulted in grossly increased instabilities under the high temperature environment.…”

“…Chen Jiu et al [12] Although centrifugal fiber forming machines have a wide range of applications, there are few public reports on the research and modeling of these special types of rotating devices (rollers). Širok et al [9] conducted high-speed camera visualization of molten films on industrial spinning machine rollers, analyzing the speed, and structural dynamics of early fibrosis stages. Lin Yihan et al [10] established control differential equations and studied the rigid clamping model of four roller wheels.…”
