On unsteady MHD mixed convection in a nanofluid due to a stretching/shrinking surface with suction/injection using the spectral relaxation method

Abstract: In this study we investigate heat and mass transfer in magnetohydrodynamic mixed convection flow of a nanofluid over an unsteady stretching/shrinking sheet. The flow is subject to a heat source, viscous dissipation and Soret and Dufour effects are assumed to be significant. We have further assumed that the nanoparticle volume fraction at the wall may be actively controlled. The physical problem is modeled using systems of nonlinear differential equations which we have solved numerically using the recent spectr… Show more

“…Awad et al [46] have studied unsteady motion past an extending sheet in a viscous fluid with chemical reaction and have solved the boundary layer equations by the spectral relaxation method. Recently, Haron et al [47] have applied the spectral relaxation method to the unsteady magneto hydrodynamic combined convective motion of a nanofluid past a stretching/shrinking surface in the presence of a heat source, internal fraction, thermal diffusion, and diffusion thermo effects. In this work we will use the SRM to solve systems of highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations that describe some fluids' motion, transfer of heat, and mass.…”

“…Mahanthesh et al [25] numerically investigated the influences of buoyancy force, nanoparticles, chemical reaction, and heat source/sink on combined forced and free convection flow of an electrically conducting water-based Cu-nanofluid past a moving/stationary vertical plate using Laplace transform method. The impacts of different governing parameters on mixed convection flow of nanofluid past stretching surfaces were studied by ( [26][27][28]). Most recently, Khan and Rasheed [29] scrutinized magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) combined natural and forced convection flow of the Maxwell nanofluid with magnetic field and buoyancy force effects.…”

“…In literature, the running techniques are the variational iteration method (VIM) [10], homotopy analysis method (HAM) [11], differential transform method (DTM) [12], and finite element method (FEM) [13]. The spectral relaxation method [14] and spectral perturbation method [15] have secured importance these days. Recently, several authors [16][17][18][19][20] have studied different flow parameters considering different fluid flows over different geometries.…”
