Optimal placement of piezoelectric active bars in vibration control by topological optimization

Abstract: A continuous variable optimization method and a topological optimization method are proposed for the vibration control of piezoelectric truss structures by means of the optimal placements of active bars. In this optimization model, a zero-one discrete variable is defined in order to solve the optimal placement of piezoelectric active bars. At the same time, the feedback gains are also optimized as continuous design variables. A two-phase procedure is proposed to solve the optimization problem. The sequential l… Show more

“…The existence of a linear relationship between 1/C 2 and E for all coatings in the potential range of around À0.6 V to À0.25 V, indicates p-type semi-conductive property of the films. The passive films of NiO [26], electroplate Ni and Ni-Co alloy [27] are p-type semi-conductors, which demonstrates that the results obtained from M-S plots and the analysis in this article are reasonable.…”

“…Both properties are directly associated with the reversible diffusionless transformation process between martensite and austenite, which can be initiated by a change of stress or temperature. The martensitic transformation is linked to a change in the crystal lattice [24]. The high damping capacity of the martensitic phase is generally linked to the presence and mobility of twins and interfaces between different variants of martensite or of austenite-martensite boundaries [25], respectively.…”

“…Space structures are usually applied in the aerospace and civil engineering such as the space boom structures [1]. Generally, since space structures are light and flexible, they are sensitive to vibration which will affect the performance of space equipment [2]. Therefore, it is necessary to suppress vibration for space structure.…”
