Optimization of Electrics Parameters CdS/CdTe Thin Film Solar Cell Using Dielectric Model

Abstract: In this paper, the electrical properties of heterojunction solar cells thin film n-CdS/p-CdTe from dielectric model have been studied. Based on the expression of the minority, carriers density in the p-CdTe base of solar cell, the photocurrent density and that of the photo voltage are determined according to the cell dimensions, doping levels, the absorption coefficient, the solar irradiance and the temperature, etc. Fitting using Mathcad and Origin Lab software on the photocurrent and the photovoltage of the … Show more

“…The concerned values of series and shunt resistances are 20 Ω⸱cm 2 and 150 Ω⸱cm 2 respectively. The series and shunt resistances are the reasons for deviation from an ideal I–V characteristic [ 40 ]. Series resistance, R S is constituted of the solar cell’s metal contacts resistance and semiconductor material resistance.…”

“…Some MPPT techniques are used to deliver the maximum energy of solar to the load and batteries. Different techniques of maximum power point tracking methods have been proposed like open circuit voltage method [89,90], short circuit current method [91,92], fuzzy logic method [93,94], perturb and observe method [95][96][97], and incremental conductance method [98][99][100]. The most popular method is perturbed and observes (P&O) method that its algorithm is shown in Figure 16.…”
