“…This was earlier noted in callus cultures and anther cultures of barley, and currently in barley isolated microspore cultures (Nuutila et al 2000;Wojnarowiez et al 2002;Jacquard et al 2009). In our study we did not confirm the previous reports suggesting that additional copper supplementation reduces albinism in androgenesis.…”

“…Many authors emphasise that the factor which crucially limits the efficiency of androgenesis is albinism among of regenerated plants. It would seem that, given the cellular functions performed by Cu 2+ , additional supplementation into the medium may have a beneficial impact on reducing this problem (Nuutila et al 2000;Grauda et al 2014). According to Jacquard et al (2009), an increase in CuSO 4 content in the medium has a positive effect on the density of plastids in the cells.…”

“…Regarding COPT1 function in these cell types, copper has been shown to optimize plant regeneration yield during in vitro culture of several explants (40,41). Although the molecular mechanisms underlying these observations remain unclear, copper has been postulated to function in extracellular oxidation processes (42), which may play a key role in the early stages of development and cell proliferation.…”

“…Potassium nitrate was found to be important in the germination of plum (Prunus domestica L.) 27 while some banana has a preference for NH 4 NO 3 28 . MS medium has a high concentration of NH 4 NO 3 , which is a source of NH Nitrate-N induces the activity of nitrate reductase enzyme that reduces nitrate to ammonium, which is then incorporated into proteins 29,30 . Additionally, the form of inorganic nitrogen and ammonium to nitrate ratio has been reported to greatly affect the growth and differentiation of cultured tissues 31,32 .…”
